This book is the perfect pick-me-up that is bound you laugh. I loved the main character and the group of wild side characters. Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins is an amusing story about an American girl who gets sent to Scotland to learn how to act like royalty. Overall, the side character make the story that much more entertaining. Getting some action from characters like the prince’s rambunctious brother lightens the mood, and there is even a fake dating relationship going on. The group has earned the name The Royal Wreckers, and you can imagine the kind of shenanigans they pull. There is a hilarious cast of side characters in the book, which was so fun to read. I love a sarcastic main character, and Daisy definitely fit this criteria. However, she has no filter which leads to many awkward encounters.

Daisy has a lot of weight on her shoulders since she has to protect not only her image but the image of the entire royal family. The transition from working at Walmart to hanging out in a castle is a hard one for her, and she handles it with snark. ❀ Sassy Main Characterĭaisy is such a sassy main character. I also loved the tabloid articles, since they offer an interesting outside perspective on the story. The posh activities like horse racing intrigued me and created an interesting juxtaposition to Daisy’s carefree personality. I loved the Scottish setting, especially since I have read so few books set there. In Scotland, Daisy must learn the rules of being royal and how to behave overseas. Fearful that Daisy might cause an international scandal in America, the royal advisors ship her off to Scotland to join her sister. This book tells the story of a girl whose sister gets engaged to the prince of Scotland. Review: Prince Charming (ROyals #1) by Rachel Hawkins This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. ❃ I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady. While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride.

Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.

She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland.
